====== Argosy Final Transistors ======
**From the Ten-Tec Reflector October 1, 2006**

The Argosy uses the following transistors in the final amplifier:

1 x MJE-520 (Q3)\\ 
2 x MRF-476 (Q1, Q2)\\ 
2 x MRF-477 (Q4, Q5)

The hard ones to find will be the MRF-476's and -477's. Cross Ref. for the MJE-520 is an NTE-124 at $2.29 ea. at Mouser

The final transistors are MRF 477.  RF Parts still has them available.  One pair per customer limit.  Kind of pricey but available.  

This is one radio you definitely want to protect with the Airpax circuit breaker.  

The drivers are MRF 476 and RF Parts suggests substituting 2SC2166.

I understand there is a company producing many of the Motorola MRF transistors including the MRF 477 used in the Argosy.  Don't remember the name of the company at the moment.  At one time I sent an email to them asking about the MRF 477 but have not heard from them.

Found it.  The company is Advanced Semiconductor, Inc.   An Internet search will find them.  I do not know anything about the company and I am not endorsing them in any way.
