N4PY's Omni VII Control Software simplifies using an RX-320, RX-340, Pegasus, or Jupiter as a second receiver with the Omni VII.
From the N4PY Software Help File:
If you wish to run the RX-320, RX-340, Jupiter, or Pegasus with the Omni VII, you need to add an AUX receiver output to the Omni VII, and if using the RX-320, a mute circuit for the RX-320.
To modify the Omni VII, first you need to contact Tentec and get the 2 small coax TMP jumpers that are made for this purpose. The mod to ask for brings the receiver antenna connection out to the 2 read spare jacks on the back of the Omni VII. You will also need a Y connector phono cable with 2 male phono plugs on one end and a female phono jack on the other end. This Y connector is available from Radio Shack.
The female jack on the Y connector is now an AUX receiver output. This can be run to the antenna input of your second receiver. This jack is fully protected from high transmit power when transmitting.
Mute circuit for the RX-320
I simply took a 12 volt SPDT relay and put the normally closed and common contacts of the relay in series with the speaker on the RX-320. I put 12 volts to one side of the coil of the relay and ran the other side of the coil of the relay to the "EXT T/R" jack on the back of the Pegasus. I put the relay in an external box and made connections to go 12 volts, external T/R, audio in, and audio out. I set the external T/R delay control on the Pegasus Control program to the minimum setting. This works pretty well. I used a junk box relay that is pretty quiet. I would suggest the Radio shack relay part number 275-241 as a good choice.
